Lo Shing Fung Leads EPT Grand Final €100,000 Super High Roller Final Table

A record-setting 62 entries were made in the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final €100,000 eight-max no-limit hold’em super high roller event, building a gigantic prize pool of €6,015,240. The money raised from the 50 unique entrants and 12 re-entries will be paid out to the top eight finishers, with the first-place prize of €1,804,000 going to the eventual champion.

With the elimination of 2014 Card Player Player of the Year contender Mike McDonald in 9th place on the six-figure money bubble the final table of eight was set. The chip leader with 4,558,000 in chips is Lo Shing Fung, a 51-year-old high stakes player who lives in Macau.

Coming into the the day in second chip position is Ole Schemion with The 21-year-old German pro who had just taken down the EPT Sanremo €10,300 no-limit hold’em high roller for €265,000 less than a week ago and is poised to add another huge score to his already impressive live career earnings of more than $ 4.7 million. Given the huge buy-in it’s no surprise the table is rounded out with high stakes tournament and cash game players like Dan “jungleman12” Cates, Olivier Busquet, Igor Kurganov, Paul Phua and Richard Yong.

The final eight are all guaranteed at least a €241,000 payday on Saturday. Daniel “mrgr33n13” Colman, who will enter the final day third in chips, was the only player to re-enter the event more than once, committing €300,000 to the tournament. As a result, the high stakes online player will have to place seventh or better to show a profit in this event.
